Join Us in Celebrating 30 Years of Building Homes and Hope!


Now that 2013 is under way, Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County is celebrating three decades of changing lives for many members of Ventura County by providing safe, affordable housing and homeownership opportunities.  Over the past 30 years, we’ve built 56 new homes and repaired over 500 homes, providing hope and a hand-up to qualified low-income families in need of safe, decent shelter.
We’ll kick off our 30th anniversary celebrations with the pouring of the foundation for two homes in Santa Paula.  On February 10th, over 700 runners will join the celebration by participating in the Ventura Habitat Half Marathon & 5K.  We also look forward to hosting a springtime community breakfast on May 22nd, numerous volunteer activities, and Habitat ReStore specials throughout the year.  Finally, in the fall we’ll host a very special 30th Anniversary celebration.

Our sponsors are fundamental to the success of our mission as we try to increase the number of families we serve.  With your help, more families in need will have a decent place to call home.  We are respectfully requesting in-kind donations or financial support from your organization as a sponsor of one or more of these exciting celebrations and events:

  • February – Ventura Habitat Half Marathon & 5K. This annual race along the Ventura River Trail attracts more than 700 runners every year.
  • April – Volunteer Recognition Reception. A celebration and recognition of volunteers. Anticipated attendance: 100-125 donors, volunteers, sponsors, business leaders and elected officials.
  • May – Annual Community Breakfast.  The audience will include 100-125 friends of Habitat including: community and church leaders, local business owners and executives, major and core donors, Board of Directors, friends, colleagues and volunteers.
  • October –30thAnniversary Celebration. An evening of  food and wine provided by local, artisans, chefs, and restaurants, plus a  silent auction.  Anticipated attendance: 150 donors, sponsors, volunteers, faith groups, and business owners, and community leaders.
