On April 12th, Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County rededicated another home repair project. This home was located in Oak Park and was in desperate need of exterior repairs and upgrades. Thanks to funding from a Ventura County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), overgrowth (which harbored a rodent problem) was removed, a new roof was installed, and the old asphalt driveway was replaced with concrete.
The change was dramatic! All repairs were made possible thanks to the good work of passionate and committed Habitat volunteers from St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church’s “Habitat to the Max” team; Women’s Council of Realtors; California Lutheran University; Pepperdine University; Collegiate Challenge students from the University of Arkansas, UC Merced, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Riverside and UC Davis; and our very own Wednesday Crew. Special thanks are also in order for Jersey Mike’s, BJ’s Restaurant, Starbucks and Noah’s Bagels for taking care of our volunteers.
