On Saturday, May 30, Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County celebrated the completion of its 57th and 58th home builds. The Santa Paula ribbon-cutting ceremony kicked off with introductions and opening remarks, followed by formal house dedications and blessiIMG_1182ngs, house tour, photos, and refreshments. The homes are located in Habitat’s Trinity Lane Development in Santa Paula (corner of W. Santa Paula Street and Cemetery Road).  View more photos

  • At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a decent place to live. We empower families who are willing to work hard to achieve their dreams of homeownership. Erik and Lily Chavez and Rigoberto and Hirais Sanchez have worked hard to achieve home ownership and stability for their children, with each family completing more than 500 hours building their homes. They also completed a series of financial management and home maintenance workshops.  Read more about the Sanchez and Chavez families.
  • “Through affordable, safe shelter, a family gains a new sense of independence, security, and peace of mind,” said IMG_1126Steve Dwyer, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County.  “Habitat works by bringing people together–homeowners striving for a better future and volunteers helping communities thrive.”
  • Our heartfelt thanks go out to all of our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and partners who are making this possible! Our first two homes in the Trinity lane Development have been built by Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County in partnership with the Chavez and Sanchez partner families; Ventura County, City of Santa Paula, St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church “Habitat to the Max” Ministry; California Lutheran University, Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity partnership, a coalition of faith-based organizations; Habitat’s dedicated Wednesday crew; hundreds of individual volunteers; volunteer groups representing local businesses, schools, faith groups, community organizations, and the military; and 2015 Women Build volunteers and sponsors.
