Program summary: Habitat for Humanity’s Preserve a Home (PAH) program works to revitalize neighborhoods, eliminate substandard housing, improve energy efficiency, and keep low-income homeowners in their houses. Since 2011, PAH has helped over 100 low-income individuals and families with critical home repair services such as window replacements, ramp construction, installation of walk-in showers, smoke detectors, grab bars and general plumbing, electrical and roof repairs.
Notice summary: Provide business documentation in order to qualify to bid on construction or environmental testing services as required for the completion of multiple Preserve a Home repair projects. Repair services may include, but are not limited to: roofing, flooring, plumbing, electrical work, sink/shower/toilet repairs, water heater replacement, grab bar and/or walk-in-shower installation, ramp construction, installation of low effort accessories, smoke and fire detectors, and window replacement.
All construction, repair, consulting and environmental testing completed through the Preserve a Home program is currently funded by Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In order for Habitat to be eligible to receive federal funding for payment of services, all contractors must have on file current copies of the following documents:
1. Contractor’s License
2. Ventura County Tax Certificate
3. City of Ventura Business License
4. City of Oxnard Business License
5. City of Camarillo Business License
6. Certificate of Insurance

The average construction/repair cost per home is approximately $7,500.
Approximately 30 Preserve a Home repair projects are anticipated to take place throughout Ventura County on an on-going basis starting October 3, 2016 and ending on June 30, 2017 (Fiscal Year). A separate NOTICE TO BID will be issued to fully-eligible Contractors once this year’s line-up of homes has been finalized.
