Waste Management Inc. is going beyond recycling, implementing a new program at the Simi Valley Landfill & Recycling Center:
- The Simi Valley landfill now has a drop off site for the Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County ReStore, which sells new, used, surplus and donated home improvement items and building materials. (All proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County, which organizes volunteers and mobilizes resources to build and repair housing in partnership with people in need.)
- For customers who are accustomed to taking their loads of construction and demolition debris for sorting and recycling, Waste Management will have a large container for Habitat for Humanity ReStore donations. (Signs will identify the container as a drop-off location for the Habitat ReStore and will also detail the types and conditions of items eligible for donation.)
