Final Two Break Ground at Trinity Lane

On Saturday, the final two Habitat families of Trinity Lane took the exciting step of groundbreaking their homes in Santa Paula. They were joined by Habitat groundbreaking habitatstaff and volunteers, who cheered them on as they began their journey of home-ownership.

These families from our community have partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build a place they can call home. Our future homeowners help to build their home alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

It can be up to a year between acceptance in to the program and the start of construction, so these ceremonies are always a joyous occasion!

“This is a new beginning for our family, especially the children. Our future home will be even more special thanks to the volunteers that donate their weekends to build with us out of the kindness of their hearts.” Evangelina Medina

Following the groundbreaking, volunteers from Habitat Young Professionals got straight to work on some digging foundations and framing the two homes in progress on Trinity Lane. Habitat Young Professionals (HYP) is a new and diverse group of young professionals who share resources, time and talents to make a difference in our local community. HYP will be hosting its first Member Mixer July 20th at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Oxnard. For more information, please go to our HYP page or email hy*@ha************.org.
