“I didn’t win a house. Habitat allowed me my dignity through its home ownership program. What Habitat has done is immeasurable. It’s been a ripple effect that helped every one of my children – all who grew up in this house and are now incredibly successful. I owe it all to Habitat for providing a single dad with four young children, ages 5-9, a sense of security and safety.” Terry Wieser, Oak View (Home Dedication 1996).

Driven by a simple vision of “A county where everyone has a decent place to live,” Habitat volunteers and donors have provided life-changing opportunities for hard working, low-income families to purchase their own affordable home. Since 1983, Habitat has built 56 new homes and repaired more than 300 houses so Ventura County residents can live in safe, decent homes.
Please consider a contribution of funds to purchase building materials and join with us to provide 10 families with the security and stability that home ownership brings.

A Brighter Future Begins at Home
Habitat for Humanity builds in partnership with families. For every family we build alongside, the experience is life-changing. Over the past year, our newest Habitat partner families have been a part of some exciting events including St. Maximilian’s fundraising dinner, the Women Build in Santa Paula, our Community Breakfast, and the Hearts & Hammers Dinner. All of these events were great experiences and both families were able to meet a lot of new people.
Liliana and Erik Chavez are overjoyed at the prospect of owning a home. Erik, who joined the Marines 12 years ago at the age of 17, has been employed with a local fruit grower since his discharge from the military. “Each event was different in its own way, but one thing that was the same about all these events was how all these amazing people came together to help our families whether itwas with a donation or a helping hand. Habitat is teaching us to be better people by helping each other to accomplish goals. We are grateful to have been given this opportunity to become homeowners and to be able to call Habitat our friends. In the past year so much has changed like the birth of our baby girl Ariana, and Susie is so excited about being a big sister. She is also excited about not having to share a room with us. We can’t wait to move into our new home!” – Lili Chavez
