This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Through his words and examples, Dr. King challenged individuals to take action and lift up their neighbors and communities through service. On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff at Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the more than 500 volunteers and generous donors who helped us build our 52nd Habitat home, joining together to lift up those in need. Working in partnership with Habitat family-partners, Javier and Rosa Montelongo, volunteers contributed more than 7,000 hours of labor, offering a “Hand Up” not a hand-out. Volunteers provided their valuable time and labor – from architectural design and planning to roofing and painting – truly building hope from the ground up!
