Volunteer at the Habitat ReStore

The ReStore is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County! Proceeds from the sale of merchandise helps us build and repair more homes in Ventura County.

Volunteer labor helps keep costs down so that ReStore prices remain affordable to all. Staff at the ReStore will provide training to all volunteers. No previous experience is needed, and we welcome all volunteers regardless of physical ability and expertise. Volunteers must complete a volunteer liability form and take part in a quick orientation prior to any volunteer activity. If a volunteer is under the age of 18 a parent or guardian must also sign liability form. All volunteers must be over the age of 14 and any volunteer under 16 must have a parent or guardian in attendance. There is no upper age limit for volunteers. We ask that you inform us of any physical limitations you have so that we can assure you are safe and comfortable when you work with us.

The ReStore is very flexible about volunteer schedules; you may work a regular schedule or on an occasional basis. We accept volunteers all hours the store is open: Tuesday-Friday 9-5 and Saturday 8-4. A volunteer tag must be worn during all shifts. Tags are provided by the sign in sheet at the register counter. Volunteers should wear sturdy, closedtoed shoes and neat work clothes.

We promise a positive and rewarding experience in an upbeat, positive, and friendly atmosphere. Each volunteer makes an important contribution to our efforts to reduce poverty housing in Ventura County, helping to meet Habitat for Humanity’s goal of assuring that all people have a simple, decent place to live.
